Funders
RHLS relies on your support in order to help community-based organizations produce hundreds of housing units for their clients
each year, and so that RHLS attorneys can work on complex transactional projects without charging fees.
We are grateful for the support we have received over the years from the following:
- Statewide funders of legal services
- City and local municipal funders
- Private foundations
- Private corporations
- Banks
- Private individuals
- Law firms
*Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network, IOLTA, Pennsylvania Law Project
We would like to publicly thank several of our major funding partners:
Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network (PLAN): PLAN is the state’s coordinated system of organizations who provide civil legal aid for those with nowhere else to turn.
Pennsylvania Interest on Lawyers Trust Account (IOLTA): IOLTA is a program created as a voluntary means to raise money to provide civil legal services to the poor and disadvantaged of Pennsylvania.
The William Penn Foundation has encouraged RHLS to take an
increasingly proactive role in promoting policies and Best Practices statewide.
PNC, Wachovia, and National Pennsylvania Bank, who have played a crucial role in supporting the organization and its efforts
to work on more coordinated and strategic community-building efforts.
“Regional Housing Legal Services is an excellent
example of how creative, energetic lawyers can use the law
to foster partnerships between the private and public sectors
and the low income community to create affordable housing
and revitalize neighborhoods.”
Alfred Azen, Executive Director
Pennsylvania
IOLTA Board
"For an extended period of time,
RHLS has been at the forefront of creative advocacy, developing
housing and community and economic development projects.
This work has resulted in affordable housing for many Pennsylvanians,
job creation, and positive neighborhood development. We applaud
that leadership.”
Sam Milkes, Executive Director
Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network
