On June 5th, Community Legal Services (CLS) presented awards to several people and organizations for their outstanding work in support of CLS and its low-income clients at their annual Breakfast of Champions event.
This year, RHLS Executive Director, Mark Schwartz was given an Equal Justice Award in recognition of his “vital role in the North Philadelphia Law Center project”. The project involved the construction of a new 18,500-square-foot building on what had been an empty lot. The new building utilizes a green design, is close to public transit, and is fully ADA-accessible.
Carol Horne Penn, when presenting Mark with his award described him as “the creative master of making the impossible possible for real estate development”.
