Regional Housing Legal Services celebrated the grand opening on Thursday, October 30, of The Fairthorne Apartments, a 40 unit residence for seniors to be operated by Journey’s Way, an affiliate of Intercommunity Action, Inc. Journey’s Way provides resources and services for older adults.
Located at 6763 Ridge Avenue in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia, the 40 one-bedroom units are designed to be easily modified for individuals experiencing disabilities and will include on-site services for residents. Housing counseling, adult day care services, geriatric counseling, and a senior center will all enable residents of the building to feel connected to their community and cope with the many transitions that aging brings.
Dina Schlossberg, Deputy Director/Senior Attorney Multi-Family Housing provided legal services that included assistance with the LIHTC process, bond financing, and worked with other local counsel to close on HUD financing. The Fairthorne is one of only a few developments in Pennsylvania to utilize HUD 202 funding in conjunction with the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit program.
Congratulations to Journey’s Way and Intercommunity Action on this fantastic project!
