Regional Housing Legal Services (RHLS) staff was thrilled to celebrate, in spirit, the grand opening of another development last week, Wynnefield Place Apartments. The development is the newest addition to Presby’s Inspired Life communities, a nonprofit organizations that provides continuing care and affordable housing for seniors. Presby’s Inspired Life operates 31 housing communities in the Greater Philadelphia region.
Wynnefield Place Apartments will provide 48 units of affordable housing for low-income seniors in the Wynnefield/Overbrook section of Philadelphia.
According to data provided by the Philadelphia Corporation for Aging, Philadelphians over sixty experience poverty at twice the rate of older Pennsylvanians in other areas of our state. In fact, Pennsylvania as a whole ranks fourth in the nation in the percentage of the population over the age of sixty-five, making developments like Wynnefield Place Apartments vital to our region.
RHLS Deputy Director/Senior Attorney Multi-Family Housing, Dina Schlossberg, helped to bring this important project to fruition, providing Low-Income Housing Tax Credit counsel to Presby’s Inspired Life and its general partner.
