Policy and Program Accomplishments this Year

Advocacy for supportive Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) units pays off for another year.

RHLS and PULP advocate to make weatherization programs more accessible to multi-family properties.

RHLS Staff Attorney, Bob Damewood, prepares a report on Inclusionary Zoning in Pittsburgh for the Housing Alliance of Pennsylvania. 

Kim Dolan, Staff Attorney and Rachel Blake, Associate Director collaborate with ACTION-Housing, Inc. to prepare Section 6, a National Scan for Supportive Housing Models for Youth with Disabilities, for the report, Housing Choice in Allegheny County. 

Bob Damewood helps the residents of Hardwood Estates take control of their mobile home park. 

A new article for the Sargent Shriver Poverty Law Center updates previous work to provide protections for survivors of domestic violence facing eviction, drawing powerful links between the Violence Against Women Act and Low-Income Housing Tax Credit regulations. 

The benefits of the RHLS Section 3 Certification program are discussed in this presentation for the Pennsylvania Association for Housing Redevelopment Agencies. 

A lease addendum is added to Low-Income Housing Tax Credit leases, informing tenants of their rights and helping legal advocates more easily determine if their clients are residing in a LIHTC unit. 

RHLS co-sponsors the release of the Housing Alliance of Pennsylvania’s Blight to Bright Toolkit. 

The Legal Intelligencer publishes “Working to Develop Affordable Housing” by Associate Director, Rachel Blake.
