Chief Financial Officer/Director of Administration
Hybrid, Full-Time, Salary $120k/yr – $160k/yr
Position Summary:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO)/Director of Administration is a key strategic partner and advisor to the Executive Director and organizational leadership. The position is responsible for fiscal planning and strategy, human resources, and administrative operations of the organization.
This includes the preparation and interpretation of financial information, the maintenance of the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers, the safeguard of assets, the establishment of internal controls as well as the establishment and monitoring of fiscal, personnel and administrative policies and procedures in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. The CFO also supervises fiscal and compliance staff.
This position acts as CFO to our support corporations, Commonwealth Housing Legal Services and Commonwealth Housing Development Corp. This position reports to the RHLS Executive Director.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities ( “Must-Haves”)
- 10-plus years related non-profit financial leadership experience, with at least 2 years’ experience as a CFO, Controller, and/or Director of Finance
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience is required, including hiring, developing, managing, and motivating talented staff. Experience overseeing the performance appraisal process
- The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of how to effectively lead non-financial functions including both IT operations and HR; superior organizational skills
- Demonstrated track record in complex budgeting and cost allocation process strategy, planning, and implementation; working knowledge of ACH systems and associated payment and money movement and transfer procedures is required
- Sound strategic thinking skills and seasoned judgment, including the ability to make decisions and justify recommendations while being responsive, clear, and firm with colleagues and partners; integrity beyond reproach; strong ethical and moral compass
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. An excellent listener who can work productively and diplomatically with a wide array of people and institutions. Ability to develop effective relationships and influence others
