DESCRIPTION:The ABA Affordable Housing and Community Development Forum presents : AI in Affordable Housing and Community Development Law: Practical Applications and Ethical Implications. \nThis webinar panel will discuss and showcase how attorneys are using AI in real-world affordable housing practice\, covering tools for drafting\, deal management\, and research\, alongside a discussion of several ethical considerations. The goal is for attendees to leave with practical insights and strategies on available tools\, how to integrate them into their daily work\, and how to use them responsibly and effectively. \nThursday\, November 13\, 2025; 12:30–1:45 p.m. ET \nProgram description: This second session in our AI CLE series moves beyond theory to show how AI can help transactional housing lawyers work faster and smarter while staying within professional-responsibility guardrails. We will share practical workflows for common tasks in affordable housing and community development matters and discuss how to implement firm-safe practices that protect client confidentiality\, improve quality control\, and lift team capacity. Attendees will leave with concrete ideas they can pilot the next day. \nAbout the Panelists: \nKatherine B. Forrest\, Partner at Paul\, Weiss and Chair of the firm’s Artificial Intelligence Group\, is a nationally recognized leader at the intersection of law and technology. A former U.S. District Judge for the Southern District of New York and Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the DOJ’s Antitrust Division\, Katherine brings unmatched expertise on AI regulation\, litigation\, and policy. She also co-hosts the award-winning Waking Up With AI podcast and serves on the ABA Taskforce on Law and Artificial Intelligence. \nAaron J. Yowell\, Partner and Chief Innovation Officer at Nixon Peabody\, is a leading affordable housing attorney and a national thought leader on legal innovation. In addition to representing nonprofit and for-profit developers in complex housing transactions\, he leads Nixon Peabody’s firmwide AI initiatives\, pioneering the use of large language models and other technology to enhance legal practice. \nTogether\, Katherine and Aaron offer unique and valuable perspectives on AI and technology with deep\, practical experience in affordable housing law. \nThis webinar was developed in part by RHLS Staff Attorney Kathryn Oates.
