NEW HOMES JUST DROPPED (literally!)

RHLS Senior Staff Attorney Kelly Prokop reported recently from Pittsburgh that she was able to watch the delivery and “setting” of one of three permanently affordable homes that our client City of Bridges Community Land Trust is constructing with Module Development.

Of the project, she had this to say: “IN MY VERY OWN NEIGHBORHOOD of Etna! It was so cool. These “boxes” come from the factory finished inside! Drywall and flooring, and pipes in the walls! They have to line up the pipes and connect them. Really excited to get to be a part of this.”

You can read more about the future homes on the City of Bridge’s website.

Module, a local company that works with land trusts and other kinds of developers, has a capacity building program for small developers that City of Bridges and one of our other CLT clients, Common Roots, participate in. They also have a workforce training and development program. They are architect, manufacturer, and General Contractor, a one-stop shop for modular homes. These cost 500k to build, will sell to a low- to moderate-income buyer for under 150k, and remain affordable forever! Follow up: Kelly brought the summer legal interns to visit the site with Senior Staff Attorney Jack Stucker over the summer.
