Ardmore House II- affordable homes for seniors in the Philadelphia suburbs.

The township of Lower Merion and its Ardmore section is located just to the west of Philadelphia. As a section of the “Main Line,” a historically wealthy area, property taxes and other living expenses can be prohibitive for senior citizens who want to stay in the community where they raised their families.

Genesis Housing Corporation, a Montgomery County nonprofit with a strong history of supporting affordable housing, understood the growing affordable housing crisis and recognized the potential for developing more housing in a prime location in downtown Ardmore – directly on a municipal parking lot next to an existing affordable housing development known as Ardmore House.  After many years of championing this idea, Genesis successfully partnered with  HumanGood to create Ardmore House II, a forty-eight-unit affordable apartment building to help seniors stay in their community and preserve social support that can be critical to independent living and better health outcomes.

RHLS Director of Development Legal Services, Kim Dolan, worked with Genesis on the LIHTC legal documents and negotiating the development partnership with HumanGood. Kim brings her expertise in assisting people with disabilities to find and maintain affordable housing opportunities.
